청소년 집회, Deeper 칸퍼런스 개최

얼바인 온누리교회(박종길 목사)는 8월13일-16일까지 master’s college에서 미주와 남미에 있는 청소년들을 위한 deeper 칸퍼런스를 개최했다. deeper 칸퍼런스는 얼바인 교회가 창립 5주년을 맞아 청소년을 위해 마련된 집회로써, 미주 전역에 흩어져 있는 온누리교회 youth 청소년들과 남미 과테말라 청소년들이 함께 모여 예배의 열정을 회복하고, 주님을 더욱 깊게 체험하며, 친구들과의 유대관계도 더욱 깊게 할 목적으로 열렸다.
과테말라, 얼바인, 샌디에고, 로스엔젤레스, 보스턴과 시카고에서 모인178명의 청소년들은 서로간의 모습도 다르고 사는 지역도 달랐지만, 그리스도안에서 모두가 하나되는 성령의 역사를 체험했다. 단순히 주일예배를 의무적으로 드리던 일부 학생들이 deeper 칸퍼런스를 통해 주님의 은혜를 체험하면서부터 하나님의 말씀을 사모하게 되고, 깊게 하나님을 묵상하는 계기가 됐다고 고백했다. 집회 중 많은 형제들이 서로 죄를 고백하며 회개하는 역사도 일어났다.
첫째 날 저녁 김대훈 목사(글로벌 선교 교회)는 진실로 그리스도의 제자가 되는 길과 이웃을 배려하고 사랑하는 법에 대해 말씀을 전했고, 이어서 윤길중 목사(한국 온누리교회)는 아침에 예배의 열정과 하나님의 비전회복에 대해 말씀을 전했다. 특강으로 진행된 john marriott 교수(탈봇 신학교)는 친구들에게 어떻게 그리스도를 소개하고 우리의 신앙을 증거할 것인지에 대해 소개했다. 마지막으로 선택특강을 통해 학생들은 선교, qt, 관계, 유혹등 10대들에게 필요한 여러가지 강의들을 선택했다.
제임스 박 전도사(얼바인 온누리 중,고등부 담당)는 “이번 deeper 칸퍼런스는 기존 청소년 수련회에서 진행했던 교제위주의 프로그램을 탈피해서 세미나, 예배, 기도에 집중하는 새로운 프로그램으로 마련했다. 따라서 학생들이 새로운 프로그램에 어떻게 반응할 지 궁금했었는 데, 하나님께서는 놀랍게도 어린 7학년 중학생부터 12학년 고등학교 졸업생까지 모두에게 큰 은혜를 허락해 주셨다”며 기뻐했다. 그리고 칸퍼런스 기간 내내 기도체인으로 중보기도해주신 부모님께 감사를 드리며, 이 번 집회를 위해 헌신과 수고를 아끼지 않으신 모든 선생님들께 감사 드린다고 전했다.
deeper conference was held at master’s college from august 13th through 16th. the theme of the conference was growing deeper in relationship with christ and other friends.
178 youth students gathered from guatemala, irvine, san diego, los angeles, boston and chicago to worship god together, and we experienced the true unity in the spirit even though we came from different places. throughout the conference, the lord restored the passion for worship and many youths renewed their commitment to go deeper into the relationship with god. many students confessed that god convicted their hearts to confess their sins to each other and truly repent. many students who had been merely attending sunday worship out of obligation renewed their commitment to the lord and experienced the awesome grace of god.
during the evening sessions, pastor dae kim from global mission church spoke on growing deeper in relationship with christ and others through the discussion of true discipleship. many were challenged to live out their calling as genuine disciples of christ. pastor joseph yoon from korea onnuri church challenged youths during morning sessions about having a passion for worship and a vision to impact the world. john marriott, instructor from talbot school of theology, gave two special seminars on sharing our faith with our friends and defending the faith. also, students were deeply challenged through the time of elective seminars given on topics such as missions, quiet time, relationships, and temptation.
staffs and i were anxious because for this conference, we eliminated most of fellowship-based programs and free time to concentrate on worship, prayer and seminars. we were worried that the schedule might be too difficult for the youths to handle. however, against our anxieties, god poured out his abundant blessings on all students ranging from 7th grade to 12th grade. we give thanks to and appreciate the parents who interceded for the students all throughout the conference dates, and we are deeply indebted to the sacrificial service of our volunteers. our hope is that this holy generation will go out to all nations and impact the world with the gospel of jesus christ. glory to god!
