Nancy lived in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, with her Her leg was already bothering her. I especially loved reading about her time at Stout as I was also a student there at the same time, and we were even in a class together! I always made it a point to view all of her programs and learned, enjoyed and remembered. A good deal of the book was about Nancy and her husband building up Nancy's Notions. Nancy was a wonderful woman who shared her talents every week with all her sewing fans. I was privileged to meet Nancy 25 years ago when she visited my neighbors home. She is missed so much by so many. First Lady of Sewing, Nancy, I admire you, and, because of you, I will always be equipped in working out the details of my sewing projects with confidence. i continue to watch her pbs series and still find a tidbit that improves my sewing experience. Richard shares his thoughts in an excerpt from the book prologue in Nancy Zieman, The Rest of the StoryA Memoir of Faith, Family, and Friends: Nancy started her autobiography, Seams Unlikely, with the words, I never intended to write an autobiography. In similar fashion, I never intended to write Nancys biography, at least not so soon, picking up where Seams Unlikely ended. She listened to every word I said and gave me advice that I could use. Thanks to Nancy, I was able to sew for my seven children, including school uniforms and proms, and loved every minute of it. There is a big gap in our day from when we watched her every morning.
